MWAN Engages Distinguished Senators in Pivotal Courtesy Visits

In a series of impactful courtesy visits, the  Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), led by the National President Professor Rosemary Ogu, met with key legislative figures to discuss MWAN’s initiatives and forthcoming events.

Professor Ogu engaged in productive discussions with two prominent senators, Sen. Ned Nwoko and Sen. Ede Dafinone. These meetings were instrumental in highlighting MWAN’s vision and upcoming projects, particularly the African Women’s Health and Wellness Conference set for June 27th and 28th, 2024.

During these discussions, Professor Ogu underscored MWAN’s commitment to advancing health and wellness across Africa. She elaborated on the plans for the upcoming conference, which aims to convene healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and improve prompt diagnosis and care.

Both Sen. Ned Nwoko and Sen. Ede Dafinone expressed robust support for MWAN’s initiatives. They acknowledged the significant impact of MWAN’s work and committed to attending the African Women’s Health and Wellness Conference. In their responses, the senators encouraged MWAN to continue their excellent work as health ambassadors, both nationally and internationally. They lauded the association’s contributions to enhancing healthcare standards and promoting wellness, urging MWAN to persist in their advocacy and outreach efforts.

Despite the packed schedule, which limited the opportunity to meet with other senators, we thank Sen. Nwoko and Sen. Ede Dafinone for making out time to meet with us.

The Association remains steadfast in her mission and eagerly anticipates a successful African Women’s Health and Wellness Conference at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja on June 27th and 28th, 2024. You are all cordially invited.
