Reflecting on Achievements and Embracing New Beginnings: A Message from Prof. Rosemary Ogu, National President, MWAN.
Dear Esteemed Noble Ladies of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN),
As we approach the end of the year 2023, I am filled with gratitude and admiration for the incredible achievements and unwavering commitment that each one of us has demonstrated throughout the year.
It is an honour to serve as the National President of a dedicated group of female medical professionals. Together, we have faced unprecedented challenges and uncertainties in the Nigerian polity, but through our collective resilience and determination, MWAN has continued to be a beacon of hope and strength.
Our commitment to advancing the cause of women, advocating for gender equity, and promoting health and wellness in our communities has remained steadfast.
In reflecting on the milestones we have achieved, I am proud to witness the impact of our initiatives, outreach programs, and collaborative efforts. The strides we have made in raising awareness about women’s health issues, supporting educational opportunities, and fostering a supportive network within our association are truly commendable.
As we mark our 100 days in office and bid farewell to this year 2023, let us also embrace the promise of new beginnings in the coming year. Our strategic objectives remain to strengthen leadership, advocacy and service delivery, members welfare and professional development, research and development, and collaborations.
Let our collective vision guide us towards even greater accomplishments and contributions to the field of medicine and the well-being of our society. The challenges we face may evolve, but our shared commitment to excellence, compassion, and equity will continue to be the driving force propelling MWAN forward. We are the future.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one for your dedication, hard work, and passion for the mission of MWAN. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the lives of women/children and the health of our Nation.
May the holiday season bring you joy, peace, and the opportunity to rejuvenate as we prepare to embark on a new chapter in the coming year 2024.
I am wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and restful holiday season. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment.
Warm regards,
Prof. Rosemary Ogu, National President Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN)
